Getting vocal by baz

I haven’t posted for a long time, largely because I’ve had a lot of other things occupying my mind.

Anyway, I’m a new push to improve as a developer, so back to the blog! I’ve been reading Domain Driven Design by Dave Evans, and a lot of the book really seems to ring true.

I’m going to try and apply some of the ideas in the book to my latest project. It’s basically some software for me to track my budget, I have a spreadsheet for that, but it’s fun to write.

I’m super guilty of diving straight in to the code for anything I write for myself, without thinking enough about the model. That’s where the book comes in!

In terms of the project itself, I’m going to run the client as a silverlight app for now, mainly because it ties in with a new project I’m getting paid for, so I want a testbed to try some things in when I’m not actually billing someone.
